DAISY PARK - SPACES

3 - Activity zones

The northern part of the park is the Activity Zone with a play area, water access and the site for Wild Shore Winchburgh including a cafe. An area has been identified for a children’s play area however it has not been designed as part of this planning application. The intention is for this bespoke play area to reflect the industrial heritage of the site and will be designed by specialist play designers and will involve the schools and other youth groups in Winchburgh. Between the play area and the Wild Shore Winchburgh site is a south facing lawn that will overlook the claypit. From the lawn area steps will provide access to a pontoon for water access and public swimming area.

Approximately 4m below, the lower terrace area will provide a large area where groups enjoying the water sports, spectators and members of the public can gather. A set of steps will connect the two terraces. A ramp will provide graded access and allows vehicles if required. From the lower terrace, steps will provide controlled access for Wild Shore Winchburgh customers to the pontoons which will in turn allow safe water access.
