Auldcathie District Park

When fully complete Auldcathie District Park will cover 85 acres in total and provide green space to the west of the expanded settlement. Winchburgh residents, school pupils and local community groups have been deeply involved in the design and layout of the park.

Facilities will include cycle tracks, fitness trails, play facilities, community growing areas, informal sports pitches and biodiversity areas.

In the first year the park has become very community focused with the first free community Halloween and Christmas events held in the park. To start 2023 off with a focus on community, Auldcathie District parkrun launches on Saturday 7th January.

It's official Auldcathie park is registered as a National Parkrun Venue!

Join in on the first Auldcathie District parkrun this Saturday 7th December at 9:30am to launch the official start to the weekly 5k parkrun held in Auldcathie Park.

A special Sporting Guest will officially open the launch event by starting off the race, please come along to join in or to watch the first official parkrun event in Winchburgh.


Park Opening Phases
1A & 1B
Phase 1A

Phase 1A of the new park expands over 40 acres and will include the planting of over 15,000 new woodland trees and shrubs.

Thousands of trees are being planted by the community to create the community woodland.

Phase 1B

Phase 1B opening included the community growing area, dog park and the grand opening of the best place to get your coffee on the go - Zac & Co

Phase 2

Phase 2 of the development is expected to start this winter, once complete it will open up another 40 acres to the public.

This phase will contain meadows, 7 football pitches, 15k more trees and an orchard for visitors to pick fresh fruit for free.

The dog park will be out of bounds on Monday 7th October to correct the drainage issues within this area and the bricked path at the parks entrance area. Contractors working on behalf of Winchburgh Developments.

During this time while work is ongoing and for safety reasons the area will be out of bounds to the public and their furry family members.
