It's official Auldcathie park is registered as a National Parkrun Venue!
Join in on the special occasion to launch the first Auldcathie parkrun event this Saturday 7th December at 9:30am.
During early consultation with residents on the development of Auldcathie park, Winchburgh Development Ltd received many requests for parkrun events to be organised locally and held within the area. Local resident Gillian Wells and her committed team of volunteers have worked closely with WDL to develop Auldcathie as a registered National Parkrun Venue.
Starting the 7th of December 2023 every Saturday starting at 9:30am, everyone is invited to join in for a free event to run, jog or walk a 5k route through the park with like minded people having fun, keeping fit at your own pace and most importantly enjoy the new greenspace for the everyone to enjoy.
Dog Park - Drainage improvement works to begin on Monday 7th November
The dog park will be out of bounds from Monday 7th November for 2 weeks while work begins to deal with the current drainage issues the dog park and stoned path entrance area.
First Community Halloween event held in Auldcathie Park
While the Winchburgh community growing group ran by local volunteers took on the challenge this year of adopting a 1.5 acre area in Auldcathie park to turn an empty area into a community run growing area as part of a 3 year project to transform the area. If taking on such a large project wasnt enough for this group, with Winchburghs strong community spirit and a great bunch of local volunteers - The yearly community free halloween event was created.
Taylor Wimpey gives a helping hand to Winchburgh Community Growing Group
Celebrating Community Garden Week (4-10 April) which aims to shine a light on the amazing range of community and school gardens across the country, and as part of its ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has donated £1,000 to the Winchburgh Community Growing Group.
